Mooreathletics.com is constantly seeking individuals who are talented and creative. There are many different dynamics to the site, from photography, videography, designing web pages, creating icons/badges, podcasting, live webcasting, writing stories, and gaining full access to all the Mustang sporting events. Email kyle.mckune@jefferson.kyschools.us if you think you would be interested in joining the team.
Photographer:The role of a photographer is to capture events and reflect through pictures what took place at the events. A good photographer captures emotion in pictures, by not only taking pictures of the game in progress, but they also focus on players/coaches on the bench or mascots, crowd, etc. Photographers would be expected to cover certain sports to develop chemistry with players and coaches so that they feel comfortable getting up close and person for the best shots.
The shots below are all shots that create interest and make people think about what is going on.
Notice no one is looking at the camera!

Brief descriptions of the positions
Writer:The role of a writer is to create stories that you might read in a newspaper, magazine or news website. Good writers are creative and capture stories from unusual angles, instead of just stating the facts. Writers would also get behind the scenes access to stimulate stories that people would like to read. Stories would include anything from recaps of sporting events, interviews, and even special blogs, or segments that the writer creates themselves. Stories can also be used as portfolio pieces.
Videographer:The role of a videographer is to make short 3-4 minute movies. A good video might include several angles, and edits and also take into account certain film making basics, that we can teach to you. Examples include approach shots, establishing shots, etc. Movie makers would be expected to know the basics of iMovie to edit film footage. Example videos that we might create are highlight films of all sports/activities, recruiting videos for teams, instructional videos for coaches, and possibly press conferences with coaches. Click here to look at some of the Wrestling videos on their homepage.
Icon designer:An Icon designer will put an artistic rendering to an ordinary image and text. They will use Photoshop or other editing softwares to create interesting images and designs. Their work will mostly be found on home pages of certain sports. The following is an example of a “Writer’s Blog” icon. Notice how it draws interests, and is more exciting than just text.
